tripod madness!

what a great/busy weekend! this was our seasonal house clean up weekend and we got a ton of stuff done. Every season we do a deep cleaning of each room. That took up a lot of time, but we managed to do fun stuff as well. I am a dork, though and I have fun cleaning if the mood is right. Thursday- bunny brought me home more magazines: Cook's companion, Oregon Home, Natural Living, and Domino. That made my day! He also brought home almond oil, which I have never tried and I used it in my waffles instead of rice bran oil, what I usually use, and it was great. It gave the waffles a nice light and fluffy texture. Friday, I decided to take the day off (slacker!) and stay home with bunny. We cleaned out the kitchen and took Nigel to the groomers. The weather has been really nice, so we took a lot of walks throughout the day.
We watched a wonderful movie (japanese) called Honey and Clover, about a group of college artists in Japan. Japanese have such gorgeous cinematography, I wish the US would copy it a little. the movie was heart warming and sweet and was the total opposite of college american movies, such as american pie.
Saturday, we had the best breakfast ever, which was multigrain waffles w/ blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Bunny made his famous egg roll roll w/ bacon, spinach and oozing mozzerela cheese in the middle. We had espresso with and it was sooo good.
Then we took of to SE Portland and walked seven miles around town. The sun was shining brightly, but it would still rain a little. because of that everything looked refreshed. There was even a huge rainbow out for a long time. We would sit outside and let the sun hit our faces, I swear I felt instantly healthier! On the way back we went to goodwill and I picked up a trifle dish, that I think is old, for a few dollars. I love it and can't wait to try and make a pretty trifle. We cam home and finished our house cleanup project and the house looks great.
Dinner was baked salmon w/ginger, garlic and teriyaki sauce. We had it w/ sticky rice, green beans and shredded carrots. That is also our bentos for today. We also found our tripod, because of the cleanup and so my food pictures won't be so blurry anymore! That really made my day!
After all this, we were pretty tired last night. We had a great weekend together, and now it is time for me to hit the books!

Your blog makes me hungry! Those are good magazines that Casey brought you. I miss working at Barnes and Noble, we got so many magazines and books.

I'm glad you had a good weekend! I did a ton of cleaning too. It feels great. My kitty helped with the laundry. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Where do you get all of your Japanese movies?

Have a great day!

bunny mostly downloads them off the internet, but a alot of them are availible in the US, like Taste of Tea won the Sundance award, I think. And sometimes Youtube will have full movies from Japan, but they are seperated into 30 min segments. Illegal downloads (torrents) will sometimes have terrible translations. But to buy them legit, is way too expensive!!!! We have about 5 japanese rental stores in Prtland!
